Defend your Citadel!

By preparing an impenetrable defense you are capable of outlasting any siege! Devious placement of certain sites can severely hinder your opponents approach; combine this with many defensive utility minions and you are able to slowly win in a battle of attrition.

Building your Realm

A strong frontline includes sites such as [[Dome of Osiros]], [[Great Wall]], [[Gnome Hollows]], and [[Free City]]. [[Bottomless Pit]]s can be used reflexively to counter more aggressive opponents; pairing [[Bottomless Pit]] with [[Scarecrow]]s creates a virtually unpassable site.

[[Floodplain]]s can be used to counter opponents burrowed minions, flooding the sites they are under and drowning them. This can be especially useful, considering that the main strategy of the deck is to burrow [[Devil's Egg]]s under your opponents sites.

Defeat your Foes

There are several methods to achieve the ultimate goal of stashing [[Devil's Egg]]s under your opponents sites. Additionally, you'll be wanting to hide [[Angel's Egg]]s under your own sites to maintain consistent healing between turns.

A spellcaster should attempt a [[Replication]] of either the [[Devil's Egg]] or [[Angel's Egg]], depending on what is needed more in the moment.

[[Gneissgnath Gnomes]] are cheap and can easily burrow themselves, even after surfacing on the same turn; they are quick and easy to recruit and can prove to be absolute pests to your opponents.

Preventing the Approach of your Opponents

Both [[Fey Changeling]] and [[Accursed Albatross]] can remove critical minions from your opponents army, while [[Root Spider]] lays in wait to prevent units from crossing key sites.

[[Mordric Druids]], if placed properly, will make opponents think twice about striking your sites.

[[Tragedy Worrywart]] will provide ample protection to your units, creating a haven against your opponent's spellcasters.

Furthermore, [[Selfsame Simulacrum]] can act either as redundant support, taking on the role of any of the minions from your own spellbook, or take on the traits of an opponents larger threats, potentially neutralizing it before it becomes a problem.

In the case of ranged opponents, [[Bury]], [[Iron Shackles]] and [[Cave-In]] can quickly clean up potential surface threats.

Why use the [[Seer]]?

The [[Seer]] offers the utility of reducing the possibility of drawing cards that offer little-to-no situational benefits. By reordering the top card of either the Atlas or Spellbook, you are able to more consistently get cards that you require.

The [[Sorcerer]] would be an acceptable alternative to the [[Seer]], as it provides the ability to draw cards - which is similar enough utility to what the [[Seer]] provides.
