As a note: Prior to some recent upgrades this deck made 5th place at Sorcery Con Las Vegas 2024.

This deck is not intended to be optimized, and is for players who enjoy a little bit of fire purity.

Game plan is to control the board with early burn spells and value minions while trying to build into the late game for an explosive win with either meteor shower or major explosion.

combos of note: Standing stones is in the deck purely as a pay off for pact with the devil, but it also serves as possible set up for different avenues of casting with your burn spells.

Wizard’s dens are one of the premier sites and do not actually have a downside in this deck. Even if attacked, you can simply discard a magic spell in order to fill your graveyard for easier archimago casts.

particular weaknesses: I’ve found that even one divine healing can make a huge impact on your chances of winning. It is a card that should be targeted in mirror matchups with your funeral pyres.

recent update*: just took out both castle’s ablaze in favor of two disintegrates for a couple of reasons. 1. Having more magic spells helps synergize with archimago. 2. There are certain creatures we simply cannot burn down. 3. The most problematic sites for us to deal with are not elite or unique, but exceptional so hamlet’s ablaze helps us more anyways.

Primordial spring has been added over shifting sands due to there not being many deserts in the deck as it is.
