The Wolf Gang is here!

So i dedicated myself to build a Wolf Deck which can handle most of the problems we meet in the Realm.

I played a lot of times against different Decks, and thought this one here is a lot of stress for the opponent, like, A LOT.

Now, what are we doing?

Avatar:

We play the Basic Avatar, the Sorcerer. Due to "Hamlet", a Site which makes Ordinary Minions cost 1 less Mana, we have a few changes, like the "Doggo Charge" Combo. We need the Card draw from Sorcerer, its essential.

Mana / Threshold:

Most of the Time, if we have a Hamlet in the Realm, we can play with 3 Mana. Keep in mind, we play Earthquake, so if your enemy plays aggro too or has a lot of nasty tricks, try to reach 5 Mana. We need 2 Earth and 1 Wind threshold. Try to play a Hamlet on the border of an enemy site, or else we lose time from moving wolves later on.

Sites:

Like mentioned above, optimal play is 2 Earth, 1 Wind and a hamlet site. Our side deck has a lot of sites which can deal with different problems, speed, life gain and deleting site´s abilitys. Feel free to add some of them if needed. The Hamlet NEEDS to be on the border of an enemy site, if your Wolves have to move too much, you are screwed.

Card Draw:

Your Avatar makes you draw an extra Card per turn, keep your hand mostly empty so the Queen can draw you another card. We shouldn't forget to pull the removal cards from our Spellbook is important.

Removal:

Even if you will have easily a lot of Minions with Power greater than 5, your opponent can have things in the back row to make your life terrible, removal is important. Bury is simple enough, nothing to explain here, target annoying stuff or things that are stronger. Earthquake is the star of the show. Shuffle sites as you like and kill everything above, on top: Every Artifact is burrowed. Death Speaker and Battlemage hate this trick. You could also re-arrange the sites so you can hit an Avatar on deaths Door who tries to run away.

Lightning Bolt is a card you should use to end the game on Deaths Door quick, this way you don't need to run after the Avatar which can be annoying.

Minions:

Wolves aren't obvious to handle, you shouldn't necessarily bring all to one spot. You can scatter them a little to make a wall. It would be a nightmare if you leave everything on a single site and lose all Wolves. Remember, 3 wolves hit for 9(!) in a single turn, its insane! This leads us to the "Doggo Charge". We discussed the Queen earlier.

Doggo Charge:

Arthurian Legends brought us a lot of neat Relics. One of them is Horn of Caerleon. You

didn't thought Wolves love music? But they do! This is how it works: Play the Horn of Caerleon near an enemy site you want to attack. The trick is to do it when you have enough wolves in hand. So the Horn costs 4 Mana. If you have 4 Wolves in hand and a Hamlet in play, all of them can be played for 1 Mana each. This way, you are hitting for an immediate 16 dmg. And i know what you are thinking: Sounds like a lot of set up! Honestly? No, it doesn't. We have A LOT of card draw, we can cycle easily through our Atlas, so finding a Hamlet isn't hard. You could also put 4 Hamlets in it if you really want to. Now, just play it near your enemy. Next step, having some Wolves in hand - look at our Spellbook, we have plenty. The only thing hard to come by is the Horn, since it's elite. If you are really going for this combo, put 2 of them in it.

Solving the death Door:

Crusade, Lightning Bolt, Earthquake, Grapple Shot and Rift Valley can all win you the Game if you use it right. This is a tragic thing most Decks realize ones in this situation. Running after the enemy Avatar can be your own Death.

Starting the Game:

You want to start. If you draw your starting hand, make sure to throw away Wolves. You have enough, no need to start with 3 of em.

Starting with a removal would be nice.

For your Sites, try figuring out what you need to start. We only see 16% of our Atlas in a Game. Having a Windmill and a Hamlet is the best to begin with.

What are we afraid of?

You cant beat every deck, there is nothing like a perfect Deck. We hate mass removal, we play a lot of minions which benefit from each other. in our most powerful form we can draw 3 per turn and play 3 Wolves. But we don't try to get to this point, we should use the Time to win by then. A Grim Reaper is our Nightmare, kill it as soon as it enters the Realm. There are people which build Decks with only 10 Wolves because of this, i say this is nonsense. Yeah sure if he hits your Wolf, its over.

But:

He is Unique, we wont see him often.
We play fast, Games often wont last long.
Its hard for Grim Reaper to hit immediatltey after being summoned.
Because of 3, most of the time you have 1 turn to respond, so kill him with removal.
Not everyone plays him, nor draws him.
There IS a way to get rid of him, with Feast for Crows. But it's Unique!

Having a Deck with less than 20 Wolves makes them a waste of Deck space.

Experiments

Now, let us talk about experiments. You always can change small things from Deck lists, in the end its your choice what you play. So, what do i recommend to experiment with?

SIDE DECK:

In this topic, we look at cards you can put in if you don't like cards from the deck and look for other options. Most of em are getting rid of some problems, like getting flooded from your opponent.

Pnakotic Manuscript:

Can be used by a Wolf with 3 or more power in the back row so you can tap for additional cards, if your opponent has to deal with 3 new Wolves per turn, he will hate you. Pnakotic can kill your minions if you draw a high cost card, but we only have a few of them. Important: Look closely at your enemy Life, calculate when to use this artifact. You can use it by a Wolf, drop it and pick it up by another Wolf to use it again. This strategy can be critical if you need more cards and cant win on your next turn.

Lighting Bolt:

Additional removal, great to cast against defending Avatar at death Door, or even just to hit him a little. Also it kills many minions, if not, strike the unit with a Wolf to give it the rest.

Dispel:

Very good against Battlemage and Death Speaker. Those two guys often need their beloved artifacts.

Squirming Mass:

Funny if 3 Wolves die and this thing gets to 9 Power.

Problem Solving Sites:

Smokestacks of Gnaak to nullify sites

Pillars of Zeiros for Life Gain

Bedrock to avoid flooding and re-arranging

Imperial Road for Mana speed
