Build an army of mortals to march against your opponent! [[Common Village]] and its variants, as well as [[Border Militia]], allow for rapidly amassing foot soldiers, which can then be supported by [[Albespine Pikemen]],[[House Arn Bannerman]], and [[King of the Realm]]. [[Lady Iseult]] and [[Queen of Midland]] also allow for maintaining your resources and, in the case of the latter, more efficiently refilling your hand after emptying it every turn.

The death of your units is only where the game plan of this deck begins, however. Any of your mortals dying allows for the (potentially mass) reanimation of [[Scourge Zombies]], as well as the free-casting of [[Keening Banshee]] if it's your turn. [[Sisters of Avalon]] also makes for an easy way to toss your zombies to the cemetery for later use while drawing replacements and, if throwing your mortals into combat isn't an option, [[Moon Clan Werewolf]] may be used to sacrifice them, triggering the aforementioned cards while also summoning a free monster.

Lastly, [[Common Sense]] utilizes a toolbox of tutorable spells, including situational pieces such as [[Dispel]] and [[Tactical Move]], while also being able to fetch core strategy pieces like [[Scourge Zombies]] and [[Border Militia]].

With the addition of Gothic and the [[Necromancer]] avatar, the deck now leans much more heavily into the undead strategy while still preserving the mortal core and Werewolf/Banshee line. Now, however, skeleton tokens are easy to come by through your avatar's ability, [[Stygian Archers]], and the [[Master Necromancer]]. In addition to the Scourge Zombies, [[Barrow Wight]] also joins the deck as a cheap undead that can bring itself back as a repeated nuisance, and [[Young Master Damion]] has the potential to summon Ghouls repeatedly through recurring its effect with Lady Iseult. These are all supported through cards such as [[Death Knight]], which functions as a second Bannerman for undead, [[Desecrate]], which can push extra damage and prime a location for even more of a push, and the sites [[Boulevard of Bones]] and [[Sold-out Cemetery]], providing more selektons and a movement bonus for them, respectively.
