The deck ideal play curve is:

Turn 1) Necromancer Skill

Turn 2) Novice Necromancer / Noisome Twosome / Exhume / Necromancer Skill + Summon Token Site

Turn 3) Stygian Archers / cost 2 + Necromancer Skill

Turn 4) Death King / Bannerman / Torch And Pitchfork

The mulligan should ideally be targeted to have a buff for the tokens with the necessary thresholds by turn 4, It's also possible to play with Panpipes of Pnom / Eclipse; the problem with them in the starting hand is that they don't optimize the mana curve and have a more specific token buff. However, I wouldn't remove them from the starting hand without having Death King / Bannerman / Torch and Pitchfork.

Book of the Dead comes in to give an extra boost after a mass removal, making your graveyard behave like a second hand and reviving your buffers or tokken summoners.
