With some inspiration from the big monster spellslinger decks from AL, here is a go at Magician monster ramp. The goal is to highroll into a big baddie early, hit them multiple times in one turn with Desecrate/Grapple Shot, and overwhelm from there. I've gone back and forth on Magician, but I'm now convinced it can be good in some circumstances — hopefully this is one of those!

Can go even bigger — e.g., Lord of Lies on board into Grapple into Lord trigger into attack for 18 damage as early as turn 3, or I Am Colossus for the potential 20 with a double hit.

I would love to put in some beater cards like Grim Guisarme in to highroll even higher, as I assume this deck folds to a well-timed Bury. Going to be retooling the list as soon as I can get some practice games in with it. Cards like Clarivoyant, Tom Thumb, Plague of Frogs, and Pnakotic may be too cute.

Considerations:

Grim Guisarme — can make for a lot more early DDs.
Toolbox — would love to offload Grapple, Tactical Move, finishers like Zap!, and maybe even something crazy like a Shoggoth or Highland Clansman to the collection, but I worry this is too slow. Will have to see.
More Swap/Desecrate/Grapple — hard to find the right balance between minion and non-minion.
Observatory/Kelp Cavern — because you don't get avatar site draw, you really have to be careful about your draws. Some amount of selection/filtering would be nice, but cheating on mana seems nicer at first glance. Not sure if Sinister Pond and Wuthering Heights are too cute, but those would be the ones to replace with this.
The Green Knight — one of my last cuts, I think higher power = better for what this deck is trying to do.
