Why play imposter?

Imposter provides a flexible game plan for many niche scenarios. Behind in cards? [[Sorcerer]]. Need creatures? [[Necromancer]]. on deaths door? [[Ironclad]].

What doe this list struggle against?

This list struggles into air matchups( due to [[Lightning Bolt]] for mask and [[Sphere of Animosity]] for [[Pathfinder]]) and [[Enchantress]]( creature curve is too high to trade favorably into Enchantress) and [[Archimago]]( more into this matchup later)

What is this list strong against?

This list is able to outvalue aggressive strategies provided you have a successful [[Pathfinder]] turn and blockers for the early game.

What is this list's gameplan?

The primary goal of this list is to [[Pathfinder]] in the early turns of the game so that we can play our powerful cards on a curve a head of our opponents. once we have 6- 8 mana we can change our mask to whatever suits the board state( e.g. [[Necromancer]] if we are against [[Savior]], [[Sorcerer]] if we aren't at threat of losing mask and there's no [[Garden of Eden]] in play, or [[Waveshaper]] if we still have to slow our opponent's clock down or need a site to flood for our [[Stormy Seas]].)

Against control lists like Mago we want to commit to the long game and force the Mago player to answer our threats one by one versus giving the Mago player 2 for 1s on our creatures via [[Poison Nova]]s, [[Earthquake]]s, [[Call of the Sea]]s, Etc.

Tech

This list is on 3 [[Order of the White Wing]] to suppress necromancer strategies and is a bit of a nonbo with [[Golden Dawn]]
also for the necromancer matchups we play 1 [[Pied Piper of Hameln]], and 1 [[Returned King]]. These cards can swing games on their own

2 for 1s

We include ward creature cards that come at a good rate such as [[Sacred Stag]] and [[Paladins of Bazia]](can sometimes get a win in with ring due to it's spellcaster trait).
We include: [[Archangel Michael]], [[Lacuna entity]], [[Pudge Butcher]], [[The Green Knight]], and [[Gargantula]]. These creatures force trades that are usually favorable and often times turn the tides of the game.

Big Swingers

We have [[Ruler of Thul]], [[Questing Beast]], [[Seirawan Hydra]], and [[Lord of Lies]] at the upper end of our curve to close out games
on the lower end of our curve we're running the best creatures we can for a 3 mana rate, [[Autumn unicorn]], [[Lugbog cat]], and [[Dalcean Phalanx]].

Engines

[[Captain Baldassare]] and [[Lilith]] are massive engines when they stay on the field.
[[Adept illusionist]], [[Doctor Demetrius]], and [[White Hart]] give us extra turns of defensive value (usually) when we need them most

Special cases

[[Lady of the lake] allows us to recur a toolbox or any mortal piece that answers the board state, as well as gives us recursion for control matchups.
[[Selfsame Simulacrum]]s allow us to double up on Unique value engine cards such as lilith and baldassare, but can also serve as additional pudge butchers or copy an opponent's doom of dilmun. in the enchantress matchup they can animated auras if proven beneficial.

Removal

Our removal suite contains cards that get around ward such as [[Stormy Seas]], and [[Call of the sea]]
we carry 1 [[Swap]] and 1 [[Dispel]] for pesky artifacts like [[ ring of morrigan]] or [[the rack]]
[[Mesmerism]] and [[Pollimorph]]s serve as basic removal, along with the [[bury]] and [[drown]] in our collection.
