ROOTS OF YGGDRASIL

Veteran Sorcery players shouldn't need much explanation on this strategy. Back when deck sizes were 40 for the spellbook and 20 for the atlas, this strategy was fairly consistent to the extent of being somewhat oppressive when assembled. When Arthurian Legends released, the deck got considerably worse, becoming nearly unplayable at all. Gothic has given the deck some new breath, though.

This deck seeks to setup a win with either [[Roots of Yggdrasil]] and a way to blow it up, or with [[Craterize]] + [[Orb of Ba'al Berith]]. By staying primarily earth and water, the deck can make the most of [[Landmass]] and [[Overflow]] to quickly ramp, which can set you up to accrue a lot of value from [[Maiden, Mother, Crone]]. The deck plays plenty of ways to draw sites (and spells) in order to keep the Roots plan fairly consistent.

The goal of Roots is to break parody by playing [[Bedrock]], [[Blessed Village]], [[Blessed Well]], [[Pilgrim's Shrine]], and [[Sacred Stag]], protecting your sites when Roots is popped. [[Geomancer]] allows you to rebuild after Roots very efficiently, giving you a near guaranteed win when executed correctly.

The deck also plays [[Pnakotic Manuscript]] alongside fodder like [[Frontier Settlers]], [[Kettletop Leprechaun]], [[Plague of Frogs]], [[Gift of the Frog]], and [[Tadpole Pool]] in order to draw cards quickly to assemble a win.
