[W.i.P] Drowning Mists

This deck has yet to be updated since the Gothic release.

Gameplan

Flood the board and win via drowning. Obviously you still need to be able to attack sites and the enemy Avatar so this list isn't devoid of combat ability. The late game threat is the [[Diluvian Kraken]]. Your main focus should be on flooding the board as much as possible, [[Geyser]], [[Floodplain]], [[Flood]], and then profit using effects that benefit from bodies of water like [[Anui Undine]].

Take small combats with effects like [[Drown]], [[Rain of Arrows]] (since most of your creatures are Submerged anyway), and [[Wrath of the Sea]].

Trade your threats upwards with creatures like [[Porcupine Pufferfish]] (cheap lethal), and [[Lake Afanc]] is Lethal with a little more staying power.

The secondary goal is moving the opponents creatures around with things like [[Riptide]] to control the positioning of the battlefield as best as possible.

The (A) Air in this deck is there to provide flexibility and help mitigate the weakness against other decks with a lot of submerge. It adds some direct damage effects, [[Arcane Barrage]], [[Chain Lightning]], etc, and some movement effects [[Blink]] and [[Grapple Shot]].

Combos or fun things

This deck is built around the fact that submerging a creature that does not have the submerge rule kills it. With that in mind, a fun combination is to aggressively play [[Mariner's Curse]] and then using forced movement effects to move your opponents creatures in the range of [[Mariner's Curse]] so that they get submerged and hopefully drown.

Strengths

This deck can handle high power creatures without having to present any of its own due to the amount of drowning present. It features a high amount of card draw to go looking for your good cards, for example [[Salmon of Knowledge]], and a lot of incidental card draw like [[Blink]] or [[Geyser]] that let you play your gameplan at the same time as drawing cards. There is a lot of Flood effects also, which gives strong counter play against Burrow focused decks or even just particularly annoying burrow creatures, [[Root Spider]].

Weaknesses

The current build of this deck is slow and doesn't present a consistent win condition aside from [[Diluvian Kraken]]. It'll be overwhelmed by fast decks.

This deck also struggles into other decks that havea lot of submerge as this deck sacrifices a lot of direct damage for attempting to kill with drawning.

Change Notes

The deck still struggles to present threats. [[Diluvian Kraken]] on it's own isn't enough. Planned additions (pending physical cards) is [[Lord of Unland]], [[Great Old One]], and [[Unland Angler]]. Potentially [[Sir Pelleas]] and [[Mester Stoor Worm]] also.

Blink is cool, but possibly needs to be swapped to Teleport to make more efficient use of [[Unland Eel]].
