The idea for the deck came from seeing what the two best Avatars (arguably) in the current format do:

[[Necromancer]]: Play every turn with the benefit of always being able to curve out with a [[Skeleton]] for extra value
[[Pathfinder]]: Ability to draw a spell every turn while putting a site into play for "free"

Fire splash version:

[[Redmane Hyena]] mainboard and in the collection to address [[Archimago]] or other cemetery strategies. Between [[Assorted Animals]] and [[Silver Bullet]], you have several ways to access [[Redmane Hyena]] when needed.

[[Funeral Pyre]] gives extra cemetery hate while providing Fire threshold.

[[Poison Nova]] gives you the ability to destroy minions on Water sites. There are a surprising amount of Earth minion spellcasters ([[Arjaro Exorcist]], [[Mover of Mountains]], [[Paladins of Bazia]]) that are able to cast [[Poison Nova]]. [[Silver Bullet]] also allows even the most unassuming [[Foot Soldiers]] or [[Skeleton]] to suddenly wipe the board. Because you are controlling the [[Poison Nova]] you are able to limit the collateral damage greatly.

[[Balor of the Evil Eye]] is an excellent finisher that can also destroy a submerged [[Coy Nixie]], opposing burrowed [[Root Spider]], damage an [[Imposter]] out of [[Pathfinder]] mask, and remove Wards on a crucial turn.

[[Searing Truth]] in the collection helps burst your opponent down or finish while on Death's Door.

[[Onslaught]] is the card that has overperformed the most for me. It is excellent after a [[Guards!]] but your minions ignoring silence, disable, and immobile is relevant in many ways. [[Babbling Brook]], [[Quagmire]], etc. no longer stop you. [[Pudge Butcher]] is now able to attack and/or reposition. [[Sister Stefánia]] is no longer silencing your own minions so you are able to cast [[Onslaught]] and an [[Archangel Michael]] and now he can still have his genesis ability as well as his ward that turn. Another relevant thing that Onslaught can do is give your [[Root Spider]] charge in case you need to quickly disable a site full of blockers or important minions.

[[Scorched Earth]] allows you to do some niche things. Destroying everything at the sites you destroy is relevant because it gives you another card to destroy auras, artifacts (against Avatars like [[Battlemage]] and [[Bladedancer]]), and minions. [[Scorched Earth]] also gives you a spell to destroy your own [[Roots of Yggdrasil]]. A niche thing you can do is destroy your own sites so your opponent can't attack it. It has happened in several games where I destroy 2-4 of my own sites in the late game so my opponent is unable to attack the sites they thought they were going to be able to attack and put me to Death's Door. [[Geomancer]] is able to replace adjacent rubbles that are created by [[Scorched Earth]] and the tech explained above makes it worth the cost.
