TLDR: If you aren't replacing 3 rubbles with your [[Geomancer]] ability every game, I do not think you are correctly mulliganing OR you aren't placing your rubble in places where you can defend them with site placements in future turns. You should probably find a line where your [[Rustic Village]] makes you a foot soldier early in the game, sometimes instead of playing an [[Onyx Core]] or [[Mix Terra]] turn 1 (matchup/opening hand dependent). [[Pudge Butcher]] can win you the game with [[Earthquake]]. Don't sleep on the [[Monastery Gargoyle]] being a surprisingly resilient minion against control decks and efficient removal, especially through genesis abilities like [[Bane Widow]] and [[Death Dealer]]. (RIP to [[Bury]] effects). [[Avatar of Earth]] is currently the decks worst matchup - currently working on improving this matchup with deck changes. Where to start... comment if you have ideas!

Overall Theme: The goal of this deck is to utilize the [[Geomancer]]'s unique ability to ensure hitting our 6th site each game while drawing a spellbook card each turn to maximize early game mana efficiency by having as much information about our cards as possible and how to adapt to what we draw. In order to do this consistently, I believe your first rubble needs to be placed IN FRONT of your avatar, and on turn 2 you must always flip your top site using your [[Geomancer]]'s fill rubble unique ability. This is a standard mid-range shell, with specific minions included to help play against a few meta cards. The Deck runs a very high curve to allow top decking wars to begin to favor our deck through superior card value and never worrying about "if we can get to 7 mana this game". If piloted correctly, you will always hit your 6th land while being able to draw a spell from your spell book every turn, and with a bit of luck, have clear decision points on whether to draw from our atlas to allow us to play [[Wraetannis Titan]] | [[Craterize]] | [[Midland Army]].

[[Infiltrate]] -- [[Master Tracker]] post-board is extremely important vs this card.
Hyper Aggro - Need to play correctly, but can deal with creatureless [[Battlemage]], I think this deck is favored.
[[Avatar of Earth]] - Yikes

Strategy: Ensure you are always getting three protected rubbles in each opening of the game. Prioritize stopping your opponent from being able to place lands on your rubble in the beginning turns, while drawing from your spell book each turn to maximize chances of drawing early, relevant minions to help stave off any early aggression. [[Root Spider]] played defensively along with some early villages create a safe early game to allow you to be somewhat healthy and possibly even the aggressor going into the midgame. Forcing your opponent to use early removal on your [[Pudge Butcher]] can create a strong late game.

Things to look for:

[[Pudge Butcher]] and Site manipulation via [[Earthquake]] | [[Rift Valley]] | [[Atlas Wanderers]] can surprise your opponents Avatar from safe to in your clutches. This can often be a game winning tactic without a timely teleport from your opponent. This is a reason to pop an early mix if you set up butcher into site manipulation to clear a way for the projectile and drag your opponents Avatar to your [[Pudge Butcher]]. Also, sometimes, using your rift valley defensively in projectile heavy matchups, especially vs [[Flamecaller]] can be a key life conservation play.
[[Crusade]] and [[Wraetannis Titan]] - reach to break through deaths door.
[[Stone-gaze Gorgons]] Will disable your own minions, so be very careful in your placement, best used when you can immediately kill a problem unit via disable and then attacking it, and then repositioning your [[Stone-gaze Gorgons]] before your next attack, or saving one of your minions from [[Infiltrate]].
When playing against water decks, [[Bedrock]] is a key land to help protect your units from drown effects, sometimes being correct to try and always summon minions to your [[Bedrock]] when possible, even if suboptimal position wise so that they can get some amount of value before dying if you suspect your opponent may be holding a submerge effect. This is why playing [[Bedrock]] in a centralized square [[7-9 or 12-14]] is important. Much like chess, controlling the center of the realm can be key to victory!

Things to avoid: Do not overcommit to the board and play into a board wipe if you don't need to. Forcing your opponent to keep up with your board and holding minions like [[Wraetannis Titan]] in hand for a potential [[Crusade]] combo to win post death's door can be a winning difference.

Opening hand / mulligans:

Prioritize, in no particular order:

Ramp | [[Älvalinne Dryads]] | [[Onyx Core]] | [[Mix Terra]] [[Frontier Settlers]]
Village Sites / Earth Sites

This will allow you to continue playing on curve. You almost always want to get value out of your village sites as creating a 1 power minion can create a lot of value and protect against a lot of early aggression. Block/Attack with these early and often, you will have plenty of power for the late game with the high curve.

[[Free City]] is very good at protecting your side of the board from unwarranted aggression
[[Royal Bodyguard]] is best played right after being placed on deaths door
[[Sinkhole]] is very good if it is your first land flipped, and can be considered as played over your first rubble instead of your geomancer ability as upon activating, you will gain access to the rubble, though prioritizing an all earth hand may be more favorable in many matchups. Testing required, likely good if you can sinkhole a key threshhold land of your opponent if they have a greedy atlas.

Meta Matchups:

Against [[Deathspeaker]] decks, you need to compete with their early aggression. You will often be able to outvalue them within the first 9 or so turns, but if the game goes too long, their genesis triggers with recursion will prevail. Don't be afraid to get in there!
[[Bedrock]] is extremely strong vs control water decks and stops many of their threats from dealing you a deathblow.

You need to be willing to block vs [[Battlemage]], especially the creatureless versions. They will get card draw, it is unavoidable. Your goal is to race the [[Battlemage]] faster then they can race you. Ramp and efficient foot soldiers from sites are extra important here. Life total is key in this matchup, they will have cards, and may get stuck on lands if they aren't intentional with their card draw due to wanting to attack every turn with their [[Battlemage]]. [[Bury]] or [[Dispel]] any equipment immediately if possible. [[Wraetannis Titan]] is a great card in this matchup, and I would conisder keeping in opener if you have ramp with it. [[Dispel]] is a key side board card, and you can board out [[Root Spider]] in the creatureless matchup easily.

Feels like a hard matchup, after a few games of testing pre and post board, enchantress feels favored in both, [[Dispel]] makes all post-sideboard games easier, [[Rootspider]] and [[Stone-gaze Gorgons]] feel super important in this matchup, Board out [[King of the Realm]] as getting it cloned via [[Selfsame Simulacrum]] or [[Infiltrate]]d is game losing often enough, considering boarding down to 1 [[Bury]] due to many times aura's being on at least 1 water site, bricking the card. Opt for 4x [[Dispel]] and 2x [[Common Sense]] to increase chances of finding [[Dispel]].
[[Avatar of Earth]] This matchup is.... potentially unwinnable for this deck in its current state. May be possible post sideboard if sideboard includes [[Gnome Hollows]]. Significant revisions may be needed for the deck to compete with AoE in any meaningful way.

I exclusively (so far) play via TTS and therefor had no consideration for paper costs and have no budget version of the deck at the moment. If this deck ends up becoming strong in the meta through "sheer dumb luck" as McGonagall would say, I will do that as a fun challenge to myself. Interesting developments...
