Eat their units while they flail in the water. Expand your shark's hunting grounds and enable sneaky plays where you pull their stuff in and chomp on their limbs.

You're trying to stalemate the board with a [[giant shark]] defending your land. A lot of people have trouble getting their head around how to play shark, let alone how to play against it. Think about it as a slow [[earthquake]], or more copies of [[mariner's curse]] - it's likely going to take out multiple of their units for one card over a few turns.

We play all the forced movement spells we can get away with so we can pull their units into deep waters. This combines really well with our pudges and nelly who need units in a straight line, our sharks who can eat their units on arrival, our mariners curse as we can force them to take a step into it and get drowned, out [[troll bridge]]s, and our [[waveshaper]] - we can make a surprise water site and extend our shark, curse, or riptide range.

Shark and mariners curse gridlock the board which works in our favour as it buys us time. You want to set up your back row as non water sites with your second row all water, so you can summon things without your sharks eating them and build up an army of [[pudge butcher]]s, [[nelly longarms]], and [[selfsame simulacrum]]s to pull their units through your moat where your shark will hit them for 5 every step of the way.

Mulligan for [[giant shark]] and [[floodplain]] as it’s the best site to border their land.

Also, we get to play [[bower of bliss]] which just hoses some decks, and [[island leviathan]] which is a fantastic control finisher.
